This week we’re getting an early start celebrating Lights On Afterschool, an annual project of the national non-profit Afterschool Alliance.
In America today 15.1 million children are alone and unsupervised after school. Afterschool programs keep kids safe, help working families and inspire learning. They provide opportunities to help young people develop into successful adults.
HBA existsto provide youth educators with food skill education resources. We’ll be taking our Portable Kitchens and setting up flour measuring stations so parents and children can prepare DIY Whole Grain Pancake mixes.
How you measure baking ingredients matters! If you can’t weigh dry ingredients, then using the “test kitchen” fluff, spoon, level” method is worth learning for consistent outcomes. Here’s the method and recipes too!
