None of should ever forget the volunteer leaders who launch our hands-on knowledge. For National 4-H Week, let me give a shout out for two of my very good friends–both 4-H foods leaders as well as state baking champions–both serving us all nationally with their great work in Family & Consumer Sciences and 4-H.
First thank you Cindy Falk, who served for years as a volunteer county 4-H foods leader. Now at the Kansas Wheat Commission, she’s still teaching any and all willing to learn her well-honed baking skills. As nutrition educator and a home economist, she serves Kansas Wheat farmers by teaching nationally and testing baking recipes in their test kitchen.
You must check out her work here!
My second shout out is to Kansas state 4-H and Family & Consumer Sciences leader Charlene Patton! She, along with her family, has taught generations of youth in their Shawnee County 4-H foods program. Follow her today as she offers baking expertise nationwide at HomeBaking.org. Also, you can Watch her latest works on Moms Everyday and our DIY Baking Channel. You’ll love Country Fruit Cobbler and more!
Thank you Cindy Falk and Charlene Patton for being part of the “maker movement,” making leaders and healthy homes every where you go.
